Campamento Orinoquia
Situated in a privileged setting on the shores of the Orinoco River, approximately 20 km. south of Puerto Ayacucho, you will find Orinoquia. Orinoquia consists of 7 individual churuatas (typical style huts), as well as another structure with 3 rooms alongside the main churuata-- a huge adobe and palm-leave structure that serves as social/dining area. The individual churuatas, elevated from the ground by posts, are divided into 3 levels with the middle level (entry) providing a single bed, and the top level accessible by stairs a double bed. The bathroom is located in the ground level. The architectural style of the churuatas is a typical blend of natural materials, mainly adobe and wood, with palm leaves ceilings and roofs, configured in a circular or hut-style construction. Many wonderful excursions to nearby attractions like the Tobogán de La Selva, Isla Garcita, or the Piaroa community of Caño Tiburon, as well as other customized tours such as birdwatching or anthropological/scientific interests can be arranged from the grounds at Orinoquia.

The camp consists of 12 simple and comfortable rooms, all with private bath, fans, icemakers and mineral water. The food is a fare of typical Venezuelan home-style cooking. Cost includes lodging, meals, mineral water, and transfers to/from airport. Guided excursions on foot, boat, and plane with bilingual guides are optional and extra...
